Kenny Slater is an active duty U.S. military member with 15 years of information technology and cybersecurity experience. He is currently filling the role of Cybersecurity Officer In Charge for a Regional Cyber Center that operates in multiple countries. His experience includes multiple years in Army Special Operations ensuring the confidentiality and reliability of information at both the tactical and strategic level. Kenny has also served as a DISA certified senior cyber network auditor ensuring NIST, DOD, and best practice compliance for over 100,000 users. At the time, Kenny was the only active duty military member to fill that role in the entire DOD. Additionally Kenny has experience in Defensive Cyberspace Operations and the spew of tools that come along with it. He currently holds close to 20 active information technology and cybersecurity certifications to include CISSP, seven GIAC certifications, multiple CompTIA, Cisco, and more. Kenny is passionate about continuously learning in the ever changing cyber world and passing that knowledge to those who come after him.

John Lopez, a Cybersecurity expert with over 10 years of experience & Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems in Cyber Security; GCIH, C|EH, Sec+. Works as a Cyber Defense Engineer at Agile Defense. Lopez has Deployed Multiple times in multiple positions during his continuing service in the Army as a Leader/Mentor for projects & teams trained in the following duties: Cyber Operations Technician (170A), Combat Medic, Military Police and Infantryman. Lopez is still serving as a Warrant Officer in the Cyber Field (170A) in a Cyber Protection Team. Lopez also worked as a valued member of the NNSA for many years, working on setup/tuning security tools & systems to ensure we meet the risk and compliance controls. Also, serve as representative to internal audit, external auditors and regulatory examiners on behalf of the area as well involved with the internal control environment for multiple classified networks.

Kie Yavorsky (Yavo)
Kie Yavorsky who goes by the name Yavo is an IT cyber security specialist with 14 years of IT experience who served as a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps from 2009 to 2017, filling cyber security roles including firewall admin, network engineer, server admin, satcom admin, radio admin, Crypto Electronic Key Management System (EKMS) manager, SharePoint webmaster, IT project manager and Cyber Security Expert. He has been recognized for leading the communication plan of 266th Pope, Pope Francis to the National Capital Region in Washington DC., and the 2011 Presidential State of the Union Address. Yavo was also recognized during Operation Key Resolve, Cobra Gold, and other operations in the Asia-Pacific region supporting tens of thousands of users. After the Marine Corps he has held roles to include Network Operations Lead in Iwakuni Japan, Lead Network Engineer for Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), Information System Security Officer (ISSO) for the Nuclear Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Minute Man III program, Risk Management Framework (RMF) Security Control Assessor (SCA) for AFRICOM, and Information System Security Officer (ISSO) for EUCOM. He has received multiple innovation and performance awards in his professional career. His education includes a Master’s Degree in Cybersecurity and Information Assurance from Western Governors University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Cyber Security with two concentrations, the first concentration in Information Warfare, and the second concentration in Cyber Connections Management from Norwich University.
