Evans, Louisiana, Feb. 11, 2026 – Renowned cybersecurity thought leader Jim West, Founder and CEO of TopCyberPro.com, and globally recognized expert in cyber governance, cryptography, and emerging technologies, spoke with students from kindergarten through 12th grade at Evans School as part of the company’s community outreach program.
Evans, a rural and remote school, is located in the Vernon Parish School District and hosted approximately 364 students in the 2024-25 school year. West attended the school from 3rd grade through 11th grade and credits it with laying the foundation for his education and his tenacity in remaining a perpetual student.
During the morning sessions, West spoke with each grade level about cybersecurity, becoming an award-winning author, and his extensive travel across the globe. Each session emphasized that students ask questions, learn about the jobs and roles West has held, and explore the possibilities open to them, no matter where they come from or how they start out in life.
In the afternoon, a school-wide assembly was held for the students to hear West speak about growing up as a child in foster care in Cottonwood, Louisiana, just down the street from where the school is located. West also announced the winners of a school-wide essay contest, awarding the top three participants new Google Chrome Books.
The final announcement at the assembly launched the TopCyberPro “Tech for Tomorrow” Initiative, an annual Evans High School program to help graduating seniors think seriously about how technology can shape their future—and to give them real tools to start building that future now. Each year, Evans seniors are invited to submit an original essay describing how they plan to leverage technology in a STEM career.
Every eligible student who submits an essay meeting the program requirements will receive a Lifetime Access Grant to TopCyberPro.com, giving them long-term access to training and resources that can support college, certifications, internships, and early career development.
